Circular brick lined courtyard with fountain to entry of this 27,000 square foot luxury home in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Within this 10 acre estate are two guest houses, one consisting of 5,000 square feet, a chef's house, 2 commercially sized greenhouse's and tennis courts. We completely renovated the 2 story pool house with exercise/weight room, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and much more. This is truly luxury living!
A rare collection of religious antique artwork grace the walls of this Paradise Valley home.
This 55,000 square foot Georgian home, also known as Roundwood Manor, was once owned by the Van Sweringens brothers. They were known for their wealth in the late 20's. Just a few of their many projects consisted of the building of Cleveland's famous Terminal Tower Building and owning 10% of the nations railroads.
With each of the previous owners came changes. The Stouffers family downsized the existing 54 room estate by eliminating one full wing of guest bedrooms. With Mr. and Mrs. John Fazio of Fisher Foods, came one of the many monumental tasks of central air conditioning along with general renovating.
Then it was my project. Four years of renovation and design, which I truly enjoyed.
The lower level, a 5,000 square foot pool room houses an olympic sized swimming pool lined with it's original 1" sq.dutch tiles. Some of the tasks ahead consisted of draining the pool, building a scaffold over it to restore the ceiling. The time consuming and labor intense chore of sandblasting the tiles and grout to like new was a must. It was like uncovering a hidden treasure when we had huge wall grates covering the steam heat system professionally polished to find they were solid copper.
A beautifully wood carved wet bar equipped with dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and more was designed to add to the ambiance of this pool room.
The exterior of the stucco home was completey lined with red brick while keeping with the Georgian style.
Hanging from the massive beamed ceiling in the drawing room is a magnificient Waterford crystal chandelier. There are only two in existence, the other one is hanging in the Smithsonian Institute. The one piece, wall to wall carpet was customed designed by "Edward Fields" of New York.
As a tribute to the Van Sweringen's, I commissioned a local artist to re-create portraits of the brothers. They now hang in the pool entry hallway.
John D. Rockefeller who helped finance some of the Van Sweringen's enterprises was just one of the many famous visitors to this 8 acre estate.
I assisted in the arrangements for King Fahd's entourage to spend 30 days in the manor while he underwent open heart surgery at The Cleveland Clinic.
THE BEST PART OF ALL IS THIS HOME IS BACK ON TE MARKET AND CAN BE YOURS FOR JUST UNDER $8,000,000!
Please call me for details, as I would love to tell you more of the history!
The famous Woolworth Mansion on ocean front property. Three floor luxury home with marble floors, a grand circular staircase in the entry, leaded glass windows, is complete with an elevator and an underground tunnel leading to the private beach.
What a find when we gently removed the cream color paint that covered these historic hand painted beamed ceilings in this Palm Beach Villa. Leaded glass windows overlook breathtaking views of the ocean on one side and the swimming pool on the other.
The pool house includes an intricately carved wet bar that I designed with an etched mirror for a backwall lined with glass shelves supported with wood carved pillars, all in keeping with the Italian Villa motif. French leaded glass doors on one side overlook the pool, while the opposite side of the pool house overlooks the tennis court.
The pool house also includes a bedroom, full bath, family room, wet bar and kitchen.
